I want to divorce my wife, what should I do?
I married Josphine when she was a widow with two children: a son, Eugene and a daughter Hortense, and a six years older than I. I was infatuated with her, I was full of her. She was not that grieving a widow, she had numerous lovers before marriage, and right after we married, and I was sent abroad for work, she had an affair with a handsome military man, a lieutenant, Hippolyte Charles. This affair became public, and it embarred me immensely. But I forgave her. We never had any children together, she can't have anymore. By and by my feelings changed. I am not in love with her anymore, and I want a child of my own. I truly loved my Josphine, but I did not respect her. In short, I want a divorce. I met another woman, Marie Louise, and we are getting married. I provided well for my step children, they are settled in life. I want to stay a friend of Josphine, and provide for her, too. I want it to be amicable. But I am afraid of her fiery temper, she is Creole. So, I don't know how to tell her we are getting divorced without creating a public scandal or scenes. What should I do?
