Do covalent bonds in a water molecule break at high temperatures?

I'm sure at a certain point they break, but generally these bonds are broken using electricity rather than just heat. if you just use heat, then the water boils and boiling is not breaking the covalent bonds, it is merely changing the physical state of the water from a liquid to a gas.
